What this is, exactly

This service gives you a shot list. For every place on it, the list tells you which two pictures to take — one wide, one close — what ties the two together, what to put in frame so the size reads, and it puts the places people most often do not think to photograph at the top.

Every place is a pair. There is no single-picture form of anything here, in the interface or in the shape of the data underneath it: a close-up on its own does not say where it was taken or how big the thing in it is, and those are the two questions a picture has to answer.

Your photographs stay on your own device. This service receives, uploads and stores no photograph, and the interface contains no upload control at all.

It is the simplest arrangement there is. You never have to explain to anybody when a picture was taken or whether anything has been done to it since, because it never left your phone.

And because a home somebody has lived in contains their whole life, those pictures should not pass through us. This tells you how to take them. That is all it does.

This service does not judge whether anything is fair wear or otherwise, because that is precisely what is in question when there is a disagreement. It never says a place is beyond normal use, never says anything is owed for it, and estimates no amount and no rate of depreciation.

Where the list says a place is worth photographing clearly, that means only that people often see it differently. It does not mean anything is wrong there.

There is no marker anywhere in this interface for a problem, no score of any kind, and no red. The places marked as often missed are marked in violet, because being easy to overlook is not a fault and not a warning.

How deposits are handled, and what happens if there is a disagreement, differ from place to place and change. This does not cover any of it — the scheme your deposit is with, and a housing adviser, are the ones to ask.

You will not find a period of time anywhere on this site for anything to do with your home. Not a number of days, not a deadline, not a calendar. Practice varies and changes, and a wrong period from a website would be worse than none at all.

The one place a period of time does appear is clause 13 of the terms, about the window for bringing a claim against us over your subscription. That has nothing to do with your tenancy or your deposit, and the clause says so.

This service gives no legal advice, represents you with nobody, and assesses no outcome. It will not tell you how you stand or what is likely to happen.

It names no landlord, no agent, no company and no platform, offers no evaluation of any of them, and recommends no organisation, solicitor or service. There is no “they usually…” anywhere in it, and there never will be.

Nothing here needs you to climb, move anything heavy, or take anything apart. If you cannot see it safely, write down that you could not see it.

That line appears on every list, on every plan, and it is never covered by a watermark or hidden behind a payment.

Where you share a home, the list adds these, and they matter as much as anything else on it:

• If you share, keep other people's rooms and belongings out of frame. Their things are not part of your record.
• In the rooms everyone uses, photograph the fixed surfaces — the floor, the worktop, the wall — and stand far enough back that nothing personal is in the frame.
• Do not photograph anyone else, and do not photograph a room that is not yours, even with the door open.
• If someone else's belongings are in the way, leave them where they are and write down that you could not see behind them.

The list is assembled in your browser from a fixed table of places and fixed wording. It does not vary from one run to the next and it does not invent a place that is not in the table. The ordering — the often-missed places first — happens there too.

The only thing a model is ever asked is which of six kinds of home your sentence describes. You can skip the sentence and choose from a list instead, and nothing about the result changes.

• What this home is actually like. Nothing about it has been seen from here.
• What your agreement says, or what was written down about the place when you took it on.
• Whatever record was made when you moved in, if one was made at all.
• Which places matter for your home in particular. The list is built from the kind of home you described, not from yours.
• Whether you will be able to get to every place on the list safely. If you cannot, write that down instead.

The list is general. Read it, and use your own judgement about what applies to the home you are actually standing in.

Do not treat anything here as professional advice, and do not use it where an error would matter seriously — in particular for medical, legal, financial, safety-related, employment, credit, housing or judicial decisions.

Nothing in this notice excludes or restricts your statutory rights. Clause 07 of the terms says so explicitly.
